Rowayton,
Connecticut Rarely is there an opportunity to create a house that projects twenty feet into Long Island Sound. The Shanley Residence takes advantage of the unique characteristics of its site to create a home with an unequaled intimacy with the wind, water, and life of the harbor over which it sits. Located on the foundation of an abandoned Yacht Club on Bell Island, our design of this three-bedroom house is organized in plan to take maximum advantage of the many varied views, while maintaining privacy from adjacent neighbors. From its stark, patterned front façade to its simple gabled building form, this house was designed to speak clearly and powerfully to the traditions of New England waterfront architecture. Services |
